Admission Tests / Entrance Examinations for Higher Education
Throughout academic career students appear for many admission test and entrance examination. Of these entrance examinations after 12 year of formal school education are highly popular. Universities, Colleges and Institutes of Higher Education (HEIs) across Bangladesh offer admission to various Under Graduate and Post Graduate programs on the basis of entrance examinations. These may be held by individual institution, or a group of institute or agencies appointed by government.
In addition, students also write various standardized tests for admission abroad. Majority of students write English proficiency tests to prove Reading, Writing and Listening, and Speaking Skills in English when applying abroad.
Which examination an student write depends on his/her choice of course selection. Also some academic institutions may offer admission on the basis of grades obtained in qualifying examination, while some other institutes may administer various round of testing including group discussion and interviews etc.
